Rockers Rescue

A nonprofit organization

100% complete

$2,000 Goal

Rockers Rescue became a non-profit organization in December of 2015. We are SO proud of our fosters, volunteers and any supporters that come our way. We rescue both dogs and cats with a specialty in neonate kittens and many special needs animals within our care.

Our animals go into loving foster homes around the Shreveport/Bossier City areas! Our fosters treasure our babies as their own! Spoiled would be the key word. We have included some points below to help you learn more about us!

------------------------------
-SPECIAL CASES. Rockers Rescue aids quite a few "special" animals.  Some of our recent special pets we help include a kitten that required a surgeon to give his heart and lungs room to grow due to a deformity, a kitten born with no back feet, a pitty with mega-esophagusa and hip dysplasia, a crippled kitty, a senior schanuzer on heart medication, a senior jackruseel weenie dog currently on seizure medication, a blind kitty, etc. We save these babies and commit to them and their happiness. We can only help with severe cases when we have the funds needed on hand. We only take in animals when we are confident we can afford their extensive care. Our rescue animals are like our own pets and deserve the very best. This is a VERY important part of who we are as a rescue. When I began this rescue, I said that I would rather help fewer numbers and treat them right, giving them everything they need, and finding amazing forever families, than to help many and not do right by them. We help who we can, when we can. We thank our supporters immensely because we could not do it without them! Fundraisers like Give for Good help us continue making a difference.

- EDUCATION: We started "Pointers from Pibble" so that our mascot could help educate the public. We have postcards with educational information to hand out at events. We love educating on heartworm prevention, the importance of spaying & neutering, microchipping, teaching about specialty cases, etc. Many in our community have no clue how many animals are euthanized locally, so we educate on the seriousness of overpopulation. We have a new mascot now and will be creating new educational product. We also have our own coloring sheets to help teach children!

-Our rescue happens to be huge SENIOR DOG lovers. We even have our own "Rockers Rescue Senior Ambassador" title. That title is for a senior dog under us that shows people how seniors make great pets and deserve a loving home! Darcy was our first and Lexi Butterball was our second. Alumni Ashton, a little yorkiepoo will be the next to receive the honorary title. Our rescue has been a stepping stone and final stop for quite a few seniors. I am so proud of our volunteers for loving these babies until the very end. TRUE COMPASSION. Our Rockers Rescue babies are blessed with some very kind hearted people!

-------------------------------------------------
- A couple times throughout the year our rescue will help donate to other organizations as we are able. Donations for an injured or urgent animal or items such as canned food that we may have an abundance of at the time. In other words, if we see another organization in need, and we have the ability to help them, we do. We believe in supporting each other.

-Many of our volunteers help other local rescue organizations and the shelters too! It is important to us that Rockers Rescue supports not only our mission, but the mission of other animal organizations that help locally. We are so proud of the work the other rescues do. Some of our volunteers are active members within other groups and we love it that way. Our director volunteers at another rescue as well. Megan also helps volunteer and run a page supporting Bossier City Animal Control animals. She does the cat images while Ninna, the director of Ninnas Road to Rescue, does the dog images.  We can't do everything, but we can do something. Together…we do so much more.

-We have an adoption application reviewal process. We want to match our pets with homes where they will thrive and be happy. We microchip ALL pets before they leave us.  We let our adopters know we are a forever family.

- Our rescue is strictly volunteer. We do not make one DIME from your kindness! ONLY the animals benefit! All donations go directly to the rescue to help the animals!
------------------------------------
Thank you so much for any support! We could not help our babies without your help. You are truly such a blessing!
