FAUNA is the driving force in animal rescue organization for Natchitoches Parish. The Natchitoches Humane Society and Natchitoches Hope for Paws joined together in 2022 to be one united front for the animals in our community!
We currently have two facilities that house approximately 50 dogs, and have 20-25 dogs and cats in foster homes. The care of these dogs and cats as well as the maintenance of the facilities are provided primarily by volunteers and donations we collect throughout the year. Many of our animals are extreme medical cases, including bullet wounds and injuries that require extensive veterinary care.
We are also working to raise funds to build a new facility to better serve the abused abandoned and neglected animals in Natchitoches Parish. We aim to be a voice for the voiceless!
Mission
Our mission is to provide and promote humane treatment for homeless and neglected animals in need, working together with the community to find them caring homes. Striving to be a low-kill community, we will provide programs and services to create a society of responsible pet owners. As animal advocates we will be a voice for those creatures who cannot speak for themselves.
