Mercy Christian Academy

Mercy Christian Academy is a donor-supported microschool in Shreveport, Louisiana. Presently hosted at Broadmoor Baptist Church, we intentionally cap enrollment to foster a close-knit, family-like environment. Our unique cohort model groups students into small, multi-age cohorts, each led by two dedicated teachers who provide personalized guidance and foster deep relationships. We provide a high-quality, loosely classical education inspired by Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, emphasizing living books, narration, nature study, and ample time outdoors for play and exploration to create a life-giving atmosphere where faith and learning flourish. Our curriculum, guided by our GROWN values—Global, Restful, Original, Worshipful, and Natural—nurtures each child’s curiosity to explore truth, beauty, and goodness in God’s creation. Small class sizes ensure personalized instruction, allowing students to learn at their own pace in a joyful, reflective setting that celebrates great ideas and diverse cultures.

At the heart of Mercy Christian Academy is a commitment to the Shreveport community, particularly low- and middle-income families. We intentionally hold space for students of all backgrounds, reflecting our belief in God’s mercy that unites every tongue, tribe, and nation.

Our donor-supported model ensures accessibility, with lower-than-average tuition and generous scholarships funded by Friends of Mercy and Louisiana School Choice programs. Every family contributes something, but no child is turned away due to financial need, thanks to the generosity of our donors who share our vision of affordable, Christ-centered education.
