The Arc Caddo-Bossier believes that everyone who wants to live in the community, and be contributing members of that community, should have the right and opportunity to do so! Our Community Living Division offers an array of residential services through two main programs: Community Homes and Community Living Supports and Services (CLSS). The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Community Homes offers 24-hour care to adults with disabilities in a group setting. We currently have eight homes located in Shreveport/Bossier City and surrounding areas. Each one is home to 6-10 adult females or males and is overseen by a house manager and an assistant house manager, along with other direct support professionals (DSPs).
In addition to Community Homes, The Arc Caddo-Bossier offers other “supports and services” for individuals with disabilities through our Community Living Supports and Services (CLSS) Program. CLSS offers personal care to adults and children still living with family or in their own home. Also offered through CLSS are respite care at The Arc Caddo-Bossier's Guest Home and Supported Independent Living (SIL) through The Arc Caddo-Bossier's SIL Apartments. Our two SIL apartment complexes offer the unique opportunity for adults with disabilities to live in their own apartment in the least restrictive environment possible. The wide spectrum of services offered by The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Community Living Division allows us to cater to the residential needs of each individual, whether that be round-the-clock care in a community home, minimal supervision in their own home or apartment, or somewhere in between. The goal is for each person we serve to live in his/her least restrictive environment possible!
