Celebrating 21 Years of Helping Veterans!
Everyone praises and supports the vet who returns home with visible scars, and while it is important to recognize and show appreciation for all who have served, veterans like our residents at Woody's, are the forgotten ones.
The mental health of our veterans can be directly attributed to the scars deep within that no one sees. These invisible scars devastate the quality of life, creating chaos & instability, and unfortunately, resulting in homelessness for many of America's veterans.
In addition to a place to call home, Woody's Home for Veterans provides a safe haven where these veterans can interact with their fellow servicemen while receiving the psychiatric & supportive care they are so rightfully owed for the many sacrifices they have made.
Louisiana's number of homeless veterans is estimated to be over 350 and rising, and Woody's Home for Veterans relies on the public's generosity to ensure that no veteran is ever turned away.
Established in 2003, Woody's Home for Veterans was founded in honor of my father, Harold 'Woody' Key.

This is part of my extended family and we support the Man, His vision and all the people who make this possible. Support comes in many ways, volunteers, donations of goods and services, money...the list is endless and always appreciated if only a good word and a prayer. Ron and his family of workers provide this service as an affirmation of God's instructions to all of us. Love. My wife Lynn and I are blessed to have such a legacy in our family.

As a Veteran myself, I appreciate what this organization is doing for the Veterans in our area; especially in the Shreveport-Bossier City area of Northwest Louisiana. However, it would be great if all of the cities in the state also established similar programs for Veterans suffering from mental or emotional trauma such as Woody's.

There are people that you meet in your life that do far more than talk the talk. Dr. Key is one of those people. What he does for our veterans is selfless and admirable. Please keep them in your prayers.
